Like you, we’ve been watching fuel costs rise sharply since the start of the Iran conflict. You’ll have seen it at the pump, and you’ve likely been feeling it across your business — we know we’re not the only supplier having this conversation with you right now.
What we’ve done so far. Since the end of February, we’ve been wearing the increase ourselves. Our freight costs have risen by an average of 38% — and until now, we’ve chosen to absorb that rather than pass it on to you. When this started, we hoped the pain would be short-lived. Unfortunately, with no clear end in sight and elevated fuel prices looking likely to persist throughout the rest of 2026, we can no longer absorb the full impact.
To keep delivering the level of service and support you count on from us, we need to make some changes. From 1 June 2026, we’ll be introducing two temporary surcharges.
Here’s what’s changing.
1. Freight surcharge From 1 June 2026, the following freight charges will apply:
– Orders under $3,000: The minimum freight charge will increase from $120 to $150.
– Orders over $3,000: A variable fuel surcharge based on your invoice value. The surcharge percentage is tied to the current average diesel price (see table below).
2. Courier surcharge A temporary $5 surcharge per consignment will apply to all courier deliveries, bringing the rate to $30 per consignment.
Like the freight surcharge, this will be reviewed monthly and removed as soon as fuel prices allow. The freight surcharge rates. The variable percentage is reviewed and updated at the start of each month, based on the average national diesel price:
| Average Diesel Price (per litre) | Freight Surcharge |
| Below $2.25 | No surcharge |
| $2.25 - $3.00 | 0.75% surcharge |
| $3.00 - $3.50 | 1.5% surcharge |
| $3.50 - $4.00 | 2.25% surcharge |
| $4.00 - $4.50 | 3.00% surcharge |
| Month | Surcharge |
| June | 1.5% |
| July | 0.75% |
| August | 0.75% |
We know added costs are the last thing you need right now. We appreciate your understanding, and we’re grateful for the trust you place in us.
